Co-op Membership
Roots & Wings is mutually owned and democratically controlled by our members, who fall into two classes with equal rights: families (children and parents, guardians, and caregivers) and workers (employees). This structure reflects our mission to provide learning opportunities for children and create stable, meaningful employment for teachers. Our members are co-owners with a voice in decisions and shared responsibility for the cooperative’s success.
Member families also have a volunteer hour requirement of 15 hours per school year. Volunteering can look like substituting when teachers are out, offering a workshop or lesson to share, as well as organizing outreach and fundraising events.
As a co-op policy, new families joining our program will start as non-members. Membership may be offered after one month of student and family participation, wherein the tuition fee is reduced by $50 per month. Families looking to become members are voted on by our board of directors after the one month trial period is completed.
Non-Member Tuition Cost
4 days per week- $750/ month
3 days per week- $575/ month
2 days per week- $400/ month
1 day per week- $225/ month
